John’s focus is project leasing for The Woodmont Company’s regional mall and outlet center portfolio. In addition, Geddis leases unique regional properties and redevelopment projects, for example the historic Biltmore Village in Asheville, North Carolina.
John’s overall experience brings a unique perspective from the tenant, landlord and developer side of the business. His multifaceted background includes Retail Operations, Leasing, Construction, Store Development and Asset Management.
His career began at Brooks Brothers where he served in several senior executive roles over a 21 year period, including Director of Real Estate and Store Development. In that role John was responsible for the company’s overall real estate strategy, including the regional mall portfolio as well as the development and opening of the first 35 factory outlet stores. As Vice President General Manager for Samsonite Company Stores, he was responsible for the overall performance of the 200 retail locations including overseeing real estate and store development. Mostly recently, Geddis was the Director of Real Estate and Store Development for the 150 year old heritage brand Pendleton Woolen Mills in Portland, Oregon.
His landlord experience includes senior management positions with General Growth Properties, Morguard Corporation and Simon Property Group. In these roles he had overall responsibility for regional shopping centers, strip centers and outlet malls in Maine, Louisiana, Florida and Texas.
